Micronutrients in Mental Health Conference DVD Conference Program (Preliminary)

Anthony Stephan

Speaker's Bio Picture Anthony Stephan was born in 1952 in Kimberley B.C. He received his post- secondary education in Power Engineering at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary, Alberta. His extreme interest in mental health forcibly arose with the suicide death of his first wife, Deborah Starr Stephan in 1994. She was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Her father committed suicide sixteen years before her tragic death.

Two of their children, Autumn and Joseph, were also diagnosed with bipolar disorder at that time. In spite of being medicated, they were not doing well and both were suicidal like their mother, Deborah. This led to a major turning point in Mr. Stephan’s life; an urgent quest to save his family from the ravages of mental illness.

Mr. Stephan credits many prayers and vigilant searching for an answer, resulting in a significant find, EMPowerplus, a nutritional supplement. Together, Anthony Stephan and David Hardy of Raymond, Alberta, have developed what is now known as the Truehope program. On EMPowerplus there are now five medical journal publishings, three in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry and two in the Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychopharmacology. Over 49,000 people from 50 different countries have used the Truehope protocol, of which thousands have normalized returning to their careers, educational pursuits and families after being restored to mental wellness.

Clinical research is now taking place in three different countries with six universities and hundreds of medical doctors using the program.
